Create a piece of jewelry with personal meaning by giving new life to forgotten treasures. Whether it’s a necklace to honor a relative or a bracelet inspired by an invented story, you’ll create a one of a kind “relic” that conveys its own history, real or imagined.

With an emphasis on personal mementos and found objects, we’ll learn how to look at disparate items and incorporate them to create a cohesive story. We’ll discuss and apply concept, design, layering,ageing/coloring/weathering techniques and various means of cold connection attachments, including wire wrapping, sewing, jewelry adhesives, etc...

This class is for all levels of jewelry makers, beginners are welcome!

By the end of the workshop, all participants will be able to think about and look creatively at items they wouldn’t normally use to create jewelry and create wearable meaningful art.  Have a greater understanding of creative jewelry making.
