Baby Got Back(grounds)!: Freely creating depth, texture & substance in mixed-media backgrounds.
Discover oodles of techniques & my own secret tricks to creating deliciously rich, textured, layered backgrounds! In this fun & friendly process oriented class; you will spend hours playing with paints, mediums, and collage materials as you learn my unique layering techniques to creating glorious mixed-media backgrounds.
My techniques will enrich your original art and teach you how to get the bang-for-your-buck by stretching your supplies. Create less waste and maximize your time by simultaneously working on multiple pieces.
You will leave with a plethora of newfound knowledge, and skills that will last you a lifetime. The versatile techniques I share can be applied in endless combinations to virtually any surface you imagine… You will never be intimidated by a blank page in your journal, a white canvas or any other empty surface again!
Some of the techniques we will cover are:

· The Many Shades of White (My monochromatic white & ivory technique)
· Chaos Incorporated (My tips for unifying an otherwise chaotic piece)
· & more if time permits!
Don’t worry about having to memorize all the steps as you will leave with a copy of my spiral-bound booklet, created especially for this class. Detailed instructions, accompanied by photos are all presented in the easy-to-follow formats I have become known for. Included with the book are extra techniques, tips & tricks we may not cover…and a big ol’ packet of goodies, embellishments & imagery to use with your newly created pages!
Students will have the option to bind their paper backgrounds into their very own journal as well.
